the time has come.

Another big to-do in February was moving. I had every intention of reflecting on my great flight from the Zionsville nest. But I kept putting it off. There was simply too much to do, after living in this place for 2 years there was a lot to pack up.

I continued to reflect on moving. Lots of thinking while in the car, the shower, while cooking. In many ways, moving represents a new chapter of my young life. So far this new chapter has been full of adventure, laughter, joy and most importantly a beautiful sense peace about where God has brought me.

Much like my first apartment this blog has seen a lot:  the highs and lows of job searching, falling in love, surviving the aftermath of a broken engagement and a broken heart,  adventures in cooking and thrifting, and my spiritual journey from a mere  Sunday Christian to something much deeper that continues to grow and develop everyday.

With that said – I think the time has come to move the blog to a new home. I hope you continue to follow my journey at – same girl – same humor – new chapter of life.

falling in love again…

The month of February was a busy one. Very busy.

I went to Colorado over President’s Day weekend. I had an amazing time. While gracing the slopes of Breckenridge, Vale, Beaver Creek, and Keystone I had several powerful moments of clarity. I have fallen back in love – with my life . I This may sound weird – maybe not. This last year I fought the direction my life was heading. I wanted what was familiar, I ached for things to go back to the way they were.

But ultimately that was not the plan God had for my life – and for the first time I can say that’s ok and I am happy about it and I have fallen back in love with this beautiful life I have. I am not where I thought I would be, but I am so grateful for that because it is clear that God’s plan is so much greater than any plan I made for myself. and now some pics of the vacation that rocked.

(1. Just me in my HOT PINK coat, I never got lost 🙂 2. The AH-mazing house we got to borrow for the week – 20 people slept here…comfortably! 3. First day Miss Juli and I enjoyed a Nutty Irishman before hitting the slopes. 4. Love those slopes – can’t remember where this was…ooops)
(1. Vail was my favorite resort hands down. Probably because we had a tour guide who took us into the back bowls – SO FUN. 2. Just three snow bunnies after lunch. 3. Poor Tom ran into a tree day one, ouch! He nursed his wounds with jameson and wine. 4. At the end of the day Beaver Creek greeted you with warm cookies at the bottom of the hill.)

Resolutions for 2012…or not

Jen: I can’t wait to get back into the gym.

Me: That’s lame.

Jen: It makes me feel better.

Me: I much prefer to practice my killer dance moves around my apartment.

As you can see I’m taking setting goals for 2012 really seriously. I think I knocked out maybe half of my ambitious goals for last year. Admirable, however it still makes me feel a little stab of failure (little).

So this year I think I will just enjoy the ride, unless I think of something totally awesome.

Cheers 2012!

What a Difference a Year Makes

It’s been a helluva year to say the very least. One year ago almost to the day I was crying in my cube at work. Ok lets get real I cried in my cube almost everyday for a solid month.

Now one year later I will no longer cry in my cube. One year later I have an office and a new title from PR & Marketing Assistant to Communications Manager!

One of my girlfriends said it best – this promotion could not have come at a better time. I have thought about last year and all the tears shed, but this change in scenery and recognition has once again reminded me to take heart, because nothing is without purpose. This new title and new office come with new bigger responsibilities. I will head up all the PR activities for our organization and I will have the power to make decisions – a big jump from being an assistant.

2012 is shaping up to be a pretty great year – and honestly the rest of 2011 is looking pretty stellar too.

Follow Me

This past Sunday, the man who lead our Tijuana trip gave the sermon. This part of his message spoke to me in so many ways (I listened to the sermon recording multiple times to make sure I got it right)

“We have the choice to leave security behind or to stay put and lose everything – and so exhausted we help eachother to our feet we shake off the dust of a place that was not our destination after all – and we are not as tired as we made ourselves to believe the search goes on and so do we – renewed in the knowledge that the path to the eternal is opened by an unwavering  commitment to change and daily following him”

This past year has been an incredible year of personal growth and I am thankful to my family and my friends who have been there every single step of the way
